Kinesics

Kinesics
1. "It's Not What You Say, But How You Say It"
Kinesics is the interpretation of body language such as facial expressions and gestures (Wiki).
2. And is perhaps the most well-known non-verbal form of communication, although it is not the only way to talk with others without words.
3. Ekman and Friesen (1969) identified five types of gesture:
Emblems: Direct replacements or substitutes for words and phrases.
Illustrators: Shaping what is being said. Accompany or reinforce verbal messages.
Affect displays: show of emotion.
Regulators: for controlling the flow of conversation.
Adaptors: Self-oriented tension relievers and other forms. Or release physical or emotional tension.
